6/27/2017 1 Comment Catarata UvitaYesterday afternoon we visited Catarata Uvita or the Uvita Waterfall. We had been told it was a good waterfall but no one we spoke with raved about it so our expectations were low. Probably not a bad way to go through life as we were overwhelmed with the power and beauty of this place. We followed a fairly steep path (there were guardrails lest I receive criticism from my abundantly cautious brothers and sisters-in-law (love y'all!) to discover a 4-5 story waterfall. With some adrenaline rushing, the boys and I ventured into the base pool. There were a few others around and we watched as they swam around so we could see if there was an undertow which there didn't appear to be. Both boys wanted desperately to get closer to the fall so we made our way (adrenaline was really starting to kick in now). Just as I'm thinking we are really getting the hang of this adventure travel stuff, a Tica teen dives off the top of the fall! I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest. We stayed the course and made our way over to the base of the fall where we found a platform to jump from. After a few jumps we advanced to a dive or two...

aboutWelcome to my blog Photos + Footnotes. I am Tyler Cunningham and I love taking pictures. It is the best way I know how to express myself and my view of the world. It's when I'm behind the camera that I'm most comfortable. I see colors and details, I observe connections between people. I see joy and pain, abundance and poverty. I am my least judgmental behind the lens, simply seeing and recording. It is how I process the abundance of information the world throws at me. ArchivesCategories |
